QA ACADEMY - Game Testing
You just joined the QA team on a multi-platform title. Five modules, one shift.
- 01 · The Pipeline — order the production milestones (concept → pre-production → vertical slice → alpha → beta → cert → gold → live ops) and the test process (STLC), with a QA note on every card.
- 02 · Component Scan — read a symptom and name the component that owns it: physics, audio, AI, rendering, netcode, input, save, localization, economy.
- 03 · Triage Desk — match each incoming task to the right testing type: smoke, compatibility, compliance, localization, soak, regression, performance, usability, network, ad-hoc.
- 04 · Bug Hunt — 100 seconds, no test cases, no script. Ten defects were injected into a mock game screen. Find them. False positives cost points, exactly like a bad ticket costs the team time.
- 05 · Cert Lab — TRC, XR, Lotcheck, App Store, Google Play, Steam, cloud streaming: know whose rules block your release.
Each module ends with a debrief, and the shift ends with a test closure report and a rank from QA Trainee to QA Lead.
